Tamworth Office Conference Room

The GMB is the only Trade Union that has an office based in Tamworth and we have had an office here for over 25 years.

We cover a large area and service over 6,000 members across a large part of the region, including Tamworth, Coventry, Nuneaton, Solihull, Rugby, Daventry, Northampton and Leamington Spa.

Our members are organised over all industrial sections. We have a large membership base within Local Government, particularly within schools and colleges. Recruitment campaigns are ongoing, supporting the GMB to keep Public Services Public and constantly promote quality services using Single Status/Best Value initiatives.

We are fortunate to have the support and assistance of our full time Branch Secretary, Jackie Ingley

Meet the Officers

Pauline Hinks
Pauline is a Senior Organiser based in Tamworth with responsibilities for the Public Services Section. During her time as a full time officer with the GMB Pauline has held responsibilities across all sections of the union including a year working with the regional organising team. Pauline has worked for the GMB in one capacity or another for nearly 20 years and during that time has enjoyed a varied and challenging career from legal officer to senior organiser. She has been an active member of the Labour Party and has served a period of office as regional representative on the National Policy Forum, along with membership of the TUC women's committee for a number of years. Pauline has also led the regional policy on domestic violence as a workplace issue

Dominic Hinks
Dominic is an Organiser and got involved with the GMB through it's Young Members Section as the Tamworth Young Members Officer. He secured an Officer position after attending Manchester Metropolitan University and now has responsibility for GMB members within ASDA, Wilkinson's and DHL.

Wayne Powell
Wayne has been a member of the GMB for over 25 years and as an Organiser his sheet of responsibilities covers all sections of the GMB. He worked for SCA Packaging for 18 years where he was a GMB Shop Steward and Senior Shop Steward for 10 years. Wayne is a member of the Tamworth Area Team

Stuart Richards
Stuart was appointed as an Organiser in July 2007, and works with members in a number of local authorities, public sector organisations and private companies. He previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in a school for children with special educational needs in the north of Solihull. He was elected as a Workplace Representative at the school in 2000. In 2005 he became a Senior Representative representing members working across Solihull Council.
