Retired Members

The GMB has a Retired Members Association (RMA), which is continuing to grow. Retired members and their partners are urged to maintain an active interest in the RMA and the work of the Union.

Members join the GMB to protect and advance their interest at work and the same applies in retirement.

The RMA aims to campaign on behalf of retired GMB members to bring about dignity in retirement and works together with like-minded pensioner groups. These aims and objectives are about furthering the interests and aspirations of retired members and their partners and the RMA is part of the wider pensioner movement, campaigning at all levels of Government.

Each GMB Region is also represented by two delegates on the RMA National Committee.

The Regional RMA meets four times a year - the dates for 2009 are:

8 September
1 December

Every retired member is welcome to attend as long as their Branch is affiliated to the association.

Branches can be affiliated to the RMA for only £5 per year and details are available from Mike Trelfa.
