Dear Colleague,

 

Re: Birmingham City Council – Imposed Contracts of Employment

 

I am writing to you concerning Birmingham City Council’s action of imposing a new Contract of Employment through notice of dismissal and re-instatement.

 

Having recently received new advice from our Solicitors I can now advise you that there is a potential Employment Tribunal Claim of unfair dismissal and/or unlawful deductions.

 

If you have had a new Contract imposed upon you and you did not receive the pay increase that should have been implemented in December 2007 and you wish to have a claim pursued on your behalf you need to complete the enclosed Questionnaire and return this to this Regional Office as a matter of urgency, by no later than 12 noon on Monday, 23rd June 2008.  Correspondence received after the above deadline will result in a Tribunal Claim not being pursued on your behalf.

 

After receiving your completed Questionnaire, if the information provided lead us to conclude you are not covered by this Claim(s) we will, of course, write and advise you accordingly.

 

I appreciate that this is very short notice; however, the revised legal opinion on this issue has only just been received.

 

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your Local Representative in the first instance.
