The GMB has had an office located in Cheltenham
for over 40 years, and has now recently moved into their new premises at Tewkesbury providing a service to our members
across a large geographical area covering some 650 square miles, which includes:
- Gloucestershire
- Worcestershire
- Warwickshire
- Herefordshire
- Wiltshire
- Oxfordshire
The office currently provides a service for over
10,000 members organised across all industrial sections with a large membership within the Public Services sector, where a
significant increase has recently been seen as a result of a major campaign using the Single Status negotiations.
The Tewkesbury area office can also proudly boast
that the GMB is the first Trade Union to gain recognition within GCHQ as a result of an agreement with Vosper Man-Tec. The Tewkesbury
office also has regional responsibilities within the Security industry.
The Tewkesbury office provides meeting facilities,
enabling the team to run workshops and courses to bring the GMB closer to the membership in the area. The office also services
membership within 20 Branches of the GMB and has a full-time Branch Secretary, Sandra Tanner, based in Banbury.
