On the 10 July 2014 Darren Cooper, Sandwell Council Leader will lend his support on the day of action to the legitimate claim of our members for a decent pat award.
GMB Local Government and School Workers will strike over pay on Thursday 10th July. The Local Government pay offer of 1% will apply to more than 1.5 million workers including teaching assistants, planners, administrators, social workers and engineers. For these workers, the offer represents a real terms cut in basic pay of almost 20% since the Coalition came to power. Workplaces will be picketed and services closed. Rallies will be held across the country in major cities.
