GMB - Stand Up To Racism
GMB Birmingham and West Midlands is to hold a live music event to celebrate black history month and in aid of Show Racism the Red Card this Friday (21 October 2016). The event will coincide with Show Racism the Red Card’s wear red day – a day of action to support and educate young people and teachers throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The event is titled 'unity in the community' and aims to bring people together in light of figures that show there has been a 41% increase in hate crime since the Brexit vote.
Joining GMB will be guest speaker former West Bromwich Albion and Jamaica international defender Darren Moore along with a host of ska, soul and indie bands. Former Albion fans' favourite Moore has been a long standing supporter of Show Racism the Red Card and was made an Honorary Patron of the campaign in 2011.
Tickets are just £5 and all the proceeds will go to charity:
