LATEST INFO FOR BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL CLASSROOM BASED SUPPORT STAFF

Following the recent referendum of Classroom Based Support Staff across the City, GMB members will be pleased to hear that continued negotiations are now taking place with the Council in an attempt to improve the overall package. Additionally, the City Council has now postponed implementation of the new career and pay structure until September 2004.

Rob Kelsall, GMB Organiser for School Based Support Staff said:

“I am extremely pleased to report to our members that as a direct result of their determination and resolve, we are now in constructive negotiations to ensure that the Agreement on Remodelling of School Support Staff here in Birmingham, is one that we can be proud of. Once the package is finalised, GMB members will be consulted on the refined proposals and implementation can be begin in earnest.”
