MORE PAY FOR BIRMINGHAM CLASSROOM STAFF

The Birmingham Deal for Classroom Based Staff has received a further uplift in Salary levels following the settlement of the National Pay Negotiations. The increase will result in:

	Level 2 Teaching Assistants receiving £11670 (actual salary) top of scale, for a 32.5 hr working week
	Level 3 Teaching Assistants receiving £15408 (actual salary) top of scale, for a 32.5 hr working week
	Level 4 Teaching Assistants receiving £20748.57 (actual salary) top of scale, for a 36.5 hr working week
	Additional Responsibility Points have increased to £516 and £771 based on level of responsibility
	SEN Allowance is paid over and above salaries for Staff in Special Schools and SEN units

Rob Kelsall, GMB Local Government Officer said: “I am pleased to report that our members working in Birmingham’s Schools will benefit from the settlement of the National Pay Negotiations. This comes on top of the recently negotiated agreement which has resulted in a significant improvement in our members Pay and Conditions. We have clearly demonstrated here in Birmingham that where GMB members campaign effectively, real benefits can be achieved for all of us working in Education”
